Built from years of grant work. Opened up as software.

Grant Fund grew out of a specialist grant boutique.

For years, we did the same difficult work behind the scenes for a relatively small number of clients: reading funding programmes, structuring their rules, mapping official sources, identifying recurring eligibility blockers, tracking changes, and gradually automating the checks we used before recommending that a company spend serious time on an application.

Over time, that accumulated layer became more valuable than another spreadsheet of grants. So we decided to turn it into a separate product.

The calls were always public. The useful layer around them was not.

European, national and regional funding programmes publish enormous amounts of information. Access to that information is rarely the real problem. The difficult part is turning it into a reliable working decision:

Does this programme make sense for this company?
What could block the application?
What is still missing?
What should happen next?

Inside our grant practice, we built structured datasets, source mappings, screening rules and decision workflows to answer those questions faster and more consistently. Grant Fund is our way of making that accumulated work available outside a traditional consulting engagement.

What we are opening up

Grant Fund brings together the reusable layer we developed through years of grant work:

  1. 01Structured programme records built around official sources.
  2. 02Mappings between programme requirements and the documents they come from.
  3. 03Recurring eligibility rules and disqualifiers.
  4. 04Screening logic for company and programme fit.
  5. 05Readiness logic showing what may still be missing before an application is worth starting.
  6. 06Monitoring processes for deadlines, programme changes and newly opened opportunities.
  7. 07Internal workflows originally created to reduce manual research inside a grant practice.

The underlying programme documents remain the authoritative public material of their respective institutions. What Grant Fund adds is the structure around them: source mapping, screening logic, classification, data organisation, workflow design and accumulated operational know-how.

Why make this available as software?

Until now, much of this work made economic sense only inside a consulting engagement. We think the first decision layer should be available much more broadly.

An early-stage founder should be able to understand whether a programme deserves further attention before committing weeks of work. An inventor commercialising patented technology should be able to see which funding routes are worth exploring before preparing substantial application material. A venture investor helping portfolio companies access non-dilutive funding — capital that does not require selling additional equity — should be able to support that search without recreating the same research process company by company.

Grant Fund is built first for early-stage founders. The same decision layer can also be useful to patent-holding inventors and investors supporting portfolio companies.

A new product built on older work

Grant Fund as a standalone software product is new. The underlying grant work, structured data practices, source mappings, rules and decision workflows were built over years of operating experience.

We are productising the most reusable part of work that was previously done internally. We want users to be able to inspect how the system works, where the information comes from and who is responsible for it.

What Grant Fund does

Grant Fund is a decision-support system. It helps structure a company profile, screen published programme conditions, identify potential blockers, surface readiness gaps and show a clearer next step. Grant Fund classifications help users decide where further work makes sense.

You can read exactly how the screen works on our methodology page, and what it covers on coverage and sources.

Where the boundary is
Official eligibility, admissibility, evaluation and funding decisions remain with the relevant funding authority. Important decisions should be checked against the current official programme documents before a company commits substantial resources. Where legal, tax, patent, regulatory or other professional advice is required, that work belongs with the appropriate specialist.

Who is behind Grant Fund

Grant Fund is led by two operators who spent years working with grant programmes and automating the research and decision processes behind that work. We are now turning the most reusable part of those internal systems into software founders can use directly.

Oliver Baker
Oliver Baker
Co-founder & CEO

Oliver has worked with startups and European non-dilutive funding for years. Grant Fund grew from a simple idea: turn the methods, rules, practical knowledge and proprietary data developed inside a grant consulting practice into a product founders can use directly.

He leads Grant Fund's grant methodology and personally oversees the quality of its recommendations. The goal is simple: every founder should receive the same disciplined thinking that previously required working directly with an experienced grant consultant.

Ivan Petrakov
Co-founder & CTO

Ivan is a senior software engineer with 15+ years of experience building complex, high-load systems, including enterprise solutions for Apple and large-scale public-sector platforms.

His professional strength is turning complex requirements and large volumes of data into systems that remain fast, reliable and understandable as they scale. At Grant Fund, Ivan is responsible for the architecture, technical quality and reliability of the product — and stays close to how founders actually experience and use the system.

During early access, product, methodology and data-quality questions can reach the founding team directly — through the contact form.

We spent years building this knowledge for a relatively small number of clients. Grant Fund is how we make the most reusable part available to many more founders.
